Mobile Engineer (Android)

About the role

Air New Zealand is building the next generation of digital travel experiences. As an Android Mobile Engineer you will join the Customer Touchpoints team to create high‑performing, native Android applications that serve millions of travellers across New Zealand and worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain native Android apps using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Deliver end‑to‑end mobile features from concept through release and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA and other engineers in an agile environment.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and app‑store deployment processes.
• Ensure applications meet performance, accessibility, security and usability standards.
• Identify and reduce technical debt to improve long‑term quality and maintainability.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience, including native Android development.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication across multidisciplinary teams.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent practical experience.
