Medical Receptionist – Beckford/Waltham GP Practices

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients at our Beckford and Waltham GP practices in Christchurch. You will combine modern technology with a personal touch to ensure every patient feels heard and supported.

Key responsibilities

• Answer patient calls and enquiries with calm, knowledgeable communication.
• Manage complex appointment schedules and coordinate with clinical teams.
• Use Tend’s digital platform to streamline administrative tasks and reduce busy work.
• Handle difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism.
• Contribute ideas for workflow improvements and patient experience enhancements.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a medical receptionist.
• Demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with patients and staff.
• Calm under pressure and able to defuse tension with empathy.
• Commitment to high‑quality, efficient service delivery.
