Media Strategist – Digital

About the role

As a Media Strategist – Digital you will sit at the centre of New Zealand’s leading media ecosystem, shaping how brands engage audiences across NZME’s digital platforms such as nzherald.co.nz and iHeartRadio. Reporting to the Commercial Digital Lead, you will translate client objectives into audience‑focused digital media strategies that drive revenue and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver digital‑first media plans aligned with client goals and NZME inventory.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Pricing, Digital Ad Operations and Insights teams to manage inventory and optimise yield.
• Analyse campaign data, generate performance insights and provide optimisation recommendations.
• Produce timely, accurate reporting and act as a trusted digital partner to sales.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and audience behaviour to identify new digital opportunities.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in media planning (digital or multi‑channel).
• Strong understanding of digital advertising, inventory management and campaign optimisation.
• Commercially minded, audience‑first and detail‑driven.
• Proactive, collaborative and comfortable presenting ideas in a fast‑paced environment.
