Marketing Executive – Customer Engagement

About the role

As a Marketing Executive, Customer Engagement at American Express, you will shape how Card Members in New Zealand experience the brand. You will use data, insights, creativity and experimentation to design and deliver initiatives that deepen engagement, strengthen loyalty and reduce attrition across the customer lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute customer engagement strategies that drive spend, transaction frequency and long‑term loyalty.
• Identify lifecycle opportunities to increase engagement, reduce inactivity and minimise attrition.
• Manage the American Express Dining Collection (NZ) programme, including events and partner administration.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of marketing campaigns across CRM, digital and partner channels, from insight to post‑campaign analysis.
• Partner with creative agencies and internal teams to create customer‑centric communications.
• Optimize channel strategies, personalization and Amex‑owned channels to maximise response.
• Leverage customer and transaction data to inform segmentation, personalize experiences and generate actionable insights.
• Support product launches and maintain customer‑facing content across digital and servicing platforms.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing and executing customer engagement or loyalty marketing strategies.
• Ability to collaborate with local, regional and global stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to drive campaign performance.
• Comfort with managing end‑to‑end campaign processes and delivering high‑quality output on time.
