Manager Tax Transparency

About the role

Westpac New Zealand is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Transparency to lead the design, oversight and effectiveness of its tax transparency framework. You will provide independent oversight and expert advice on FATCA and Common Reporting Standard obligations within the Risk function, ensuring robust controls and accurate regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead FATCA and Common Reporting Standard reporting to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
• Oversee and strengthen the Tax Transparency control framework, including control testing and issue remediation.
• Provide independent oversight and challenge of tax transparency risk management practices across the business.
• Assess impacts of new and existing products, services and initiatives on tax transparency obligations.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of changes.
• Engage and influence stakeholders across Risk, Legal, Product, Operations and Audit.

Required profile

• 5+ years’ experience in tax transparency, regulatory compliance or financial crime risk roles.
• Strong understanding of FATCA, Common Reporting Standard and broader financial services regulation.
• Experience in risk management, control design, and assurance or testing.
• Ability to analyse complex issues and provide practical, risk‑based solutions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
