Management Trainee – Leadership Development

About the role

As a Management Trainee at McDonald's you will start a structured leadership programme that combines on‑the‑job training with classroom learning. You will be fully immersed in the daily operations of a restaurant, gaining experience in both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house activities while developing the skills needed to become a Shift Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the restaurant manager in planning staff schedules and allocating duties.
• Supervise daily service, ensuring food quality, hygiene standards and guest satisfaction.
• Support inventory control, cash handling and basic administrative tasks.
• Provide coaching and feedback to team members to foster a positive work environment.
• Participate in training sessions and self‑study modules to progress toward a managerial role.

Required profile

• At least a vocational (MBO) level of education.
• Strong interest in hospitality or retail; previous experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Basic numeracy for cash handling and inventory checks.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
