Management Accountant

About the role

Fulton Hogan is seeking a Management Accountant to join its Hawke's Bay team, working across the Napier and Hastings offices. This hands‑on position partners with operational leaders, the Finance Manager and the admin team to provide accurate financial information that supports smart commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end activities including journal entries, reconciliations, analysis and P&L reviews with managers.
• Assist with project forecasting, annual budgets and business cases for capital expenditure.
• Manage capital submissions and CAPEX administration.
• Partner with quarry operations on production planning, demand forecasting, inventory management and day‑to‑day accounting tasks.
• Provide financial analysis, P&L forecasting and training on financial reports to operational teams.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, reporting timetables and governance requirements.
• Contribute to safe, compliant and high‑quality ways of working and continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification and CA/CPA designation.
• Experience or sound knowledge of a civil contracting environment (advantageous).
• Manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential.
• Strong analytical ability to turn financial data into practical insights.
• Proactive, accountable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Collaborative style with sound judgement and a commitment to safety and quality.
