Managed Services Engineer

About the role

Eagle Technology Group is seeking a Managed Services Engineer to join its Auckland‑based infrastructure team. You will work on critical cloud and on‑premise environments for government, utilities, defence and private sector clients, ensuring reliable, high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, configure and maintain customer workloads across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
• Administer Windows and Linux server environments, handling patching, backup verification and routine maintenance.
• Deliver scheduled changes and upgrades, adhering to agreed timelines and standards.
• Fulfil service requests and operational tasks across a portfolio of customers.
• Provide engineering support for incidents, owning complex events through to resolution.
• Apply identity, access and security configurations in line with established policies.
• Respond to monitoring alerts and improve monitoring accuracy.
• Identify and implement improvements to increase reliability and efficiency of routine work.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders, especially during incidents.

Required profile

• Hands‑on operational experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS, with familiarity in the other.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux servers, including patching and routine maintenance.
• Solid networking, identity and security fundamentals in a cloud context.
• Proven ability to deliver changes and service requests in a structured, controlled manner.
• Experience supporting incidents, including complex events.
• Ability to script in PowerShell or Bash.
• Comfort working with infrastructure‑as‑code and shared automation tools.
• Clear communicator comfortable working with customers.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.
