Maintenance & Trades Supervisor – Plant Operations

About the role

Alliance Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance & Trades Supervisor to lead the maintenance function at its large Lorneville processing facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will provide hands‑on leadership, coordinate preventive and reactive work, and ensure plant reliability, efficiency and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of tradespeople and external contractors.
• Plan, schedule and execute preventative and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Prioritise maintenance work across the site to minimise downtime.
• Support safe, reliable and efficient plant operation in a major‑hazard environment.
• Drive continuous‑improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Coach, develop and assess team performance.
• Build strong relationships with production and operational teams.

Required profile

• Recognised trade qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Refrigeration, Fitting & Turning or similar).
• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, processing, engineering or heavy‑industry settings.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience coordinating contractors and complex maintenance programmes.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Current unrestricted right to work in New Zealand and ability to pass pre‑employment medical, drug/alcohol and background checks.
