Maintenance Team Member – Handyperson

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Team Member – Handyperson to join the hotel’s maintenance crew in Queenstown. You will ensure the building, guest rooms, public areas and surrounding facilities remain operational, safe and comfortable for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms and common areas, report issues and complete job sheets.
• Prioritise maintenance tasks, engage external contractors when needed and maintain accurate records of work and supplies.
• Respond promptly to repair requests and coordinate with the Chief Engineer or Manager on Duty.
• Carry out general building maintenance including gib stopping, carpentry, basic plumbing, painting and electrical testing.
• Ensure all work complies with fire, health & safety and environmental procedures.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of systems and procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in building, facility or hotel maintenance.
• Ability to work independently, including weekend or rostered shifts.
• Good problem‑solving and customer service skills.
• Basic computer literacy for job reporting.
• Valid New Zealand work visa (unsponsored).
