Legal Counsel

About the role

Revolut is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support its rapid growth in New Zealand. You will work closely with product, compliance and business teams to ensure regulatory compliance, manage legal risks and structure commercial partnerships across existing and new markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support and manage regulatory licence variations or new applications.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and marketing agreements.
• Assist with board and corporate governance matters.
• Manage legal and regulatory issues for local and expansion markets.
• Consult on compliance frameworks and structural requirements for the product pipeline.
• Advise on data protection, privacy and payment‑services regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and proactively address developments.
• Draft and amend customer‑facing documentation such as terms and conditions, product disclosure statements and policies.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a qualified lawyer with a current New Zealand practising certificate.
• Background in private practice or in‑house role within a financial‑services organisation.
• Strong knowledge of the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act and the Financial Markets Conduct Act.
• Expertise in retail banking and consumer law.
• Excellent analytical ability combined with sound legal and business judgement.
• High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment.
