Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity Governance & Leadership

About the role

The University of Otago is seeking a full‑time, permanent academic to join its emerging Queenstown campus as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity Governance and Leadership. The position focuses on postgraduate teaching, curriculum development and building an active research programme in cybersecurity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver postgraduate courses in cybersecurity governance, information security management and cyber policy.
• Develop and continuously improve curriculum and learning resources.
• Establish and lead a research agenda, publish in reputable journals and attract research funding.
• Provide academic service to the department and the wider university community.
• Engage with regional industry, government and community organisations to create collaborative opportunities.

Required profile

• Completed PhD in cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, law, public policy or a closely related discipline.
• Established or emerging research record in cybersecurity governance, information security management or cyber policy.
• Experience teaching at postgraduate level and developing curriculum.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with external stakeholders.
• Leadership potential to contribute to the growth of the Queenstown campus.
