About the role

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha seeks an early‑career academic to join a vibrant teaching and research community. The role combines high‑quality instruction, development of a research programme, and service to the department and wider community.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Mechatronic Engineering.
• Coordinate curricula, manage teaching teams, resources and budgets, and support student learning.
• Build and lead a research programme, supervise postgraduate students and publish in reputable outlets.
• Attract and secure external research funding.
• Contribute to departmental, university and community service activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related discipline from a recognised university.
• Emerging record of peer‑reviewed publications and experience in funded research projects.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in a tertiary environment and ability to create engaging learning experiences.
• Strong communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
