Learning Facilitator (Casual)

About the role

The Auckland Art Gallery is seeking casual Learning Facilitators to inspire learners through hands‑on art experiences. You will deliver interactive workshops for audiences ranging from early childhood to tertiary education, both onsite and via outreach programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver interactive, hands‑on art workshops for learners of varied ages, both at the Gallery and in community settings.
• Collaborate with the Akoranga Learning team to design and adapt sessions that meet diverse skill levels and cultural contexts.
• Facilitate sessions in both English and te reo Māori, ensuring inclusive and engaging experiences.
• Adjust workshop delivery based on participant feedback and learning outcomes.

Required profile

• Fluent in te reo Māori and confident delivering facilitation in both Māori and English.
• Creative, personable and flexible mindset with a passion for arts and culture.
• Experience leading hands‑on, open‑ended art workshops; formal teacher registration not required.
• Qualification in Visual Arts, Art History or Education.

Required skills

• Hands‑on art facilitation techniques.
• Ability to design and adapt workshop content for varied age groups.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration.
