Learning Designer (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Banqer is rebuilding its primary financial‑education programme and needs a Learning Designer to create the classroom resources that bring the curriculum to life. This six‑month fixed‑term position is based in Christchurch and works closely with the product team to ensure seamless integration with the simulation platform.

Key responsibilities

• Write units, lesson plans, slide decks, quizzes and teaching notes for a full set of year levels.
• Map every resource to the relevant NZ and AU curriculum frameworks (Maths, Social Sciences, Humanities, Consumer & Financial Literacy) and maintain coverage documentation.
• Produce teacher‑facing materials that require minimal preparation and student‑facing content that is age‑appropriate and engaging.
• Collaborate with the product team to align lesson sequencing with simulation features.
• Incorporate feedback from teachers, students and the team to continuously improve resources.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure curriculum alignment and instructional quality.

Required profile

• Experienced teacher with a strong background in curriculum design.
• Ability to translate year‑level plans and curriculum objectives into ready‑to‑use lessons.
• Comfortable working to tight timelines and delivering high‑quality educational content.
• Willingness to work onsite in Christchurch and collaborate across product and education teams.
