Learning and Development Manager

About the role

Higgins is seeking an experienced Learning and Development Manager to shape the company’s learning strategy and ensure the workforce has the capabilities required for future growth. Reporting to the Head of People & Performance, you will partner with leaders across the organisation to design practical development solutions and clear career pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Higgins’ Learning & Development strategy.
• Build learning pathways, capability frameworks and career development programmes.
• Design and embed leadership development initiatives for all levels.
• Partner with operational and business leaders to identify current and future capability needs.
• Lead projects focused on workforce development, career pathways and competency frameworks.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to create engaging, practical learning solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve learning systems, tools and processes.
• Measure programme effectiveness and use insights to continuously improve outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development or Talent Development.
• Track record of translating business needs into practical learning solutions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence leaders at all levels.
• Comfort operating both strategically and hands‑on (facilitation, coaching, programme implementation).
• Experience leading change and embedding new learning initiatives.
• Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Adult Learning, HR, Organisational Development, Instructional Design or related field.
