Learn to Swim Instructor (Part‑time)

About the role

Auckland Council is seeking enthusiastic team members to join the Learn to Swim team at Tepid Baths. This part‑time position involves teaching basic swimming skills to infants, toddlers and preschool‑aged children while ensuring a safe, fun environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver structured swim lessons to children of various ages.
• Maintain a safe and supportive pool environment.
• Provide excellent customer service to families and centre visitors.
• Complete required training sessions and First Aid certification.
• Assist with pool operations during scheduled shifts (Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings).

Required profile

• Strong swimming ability and a passion for water safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse community.
• Availability for training from 6 July to 17 July 2026.

Required skills

• First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Recognised swim teacher qualification (preferred but not mandatory).
