Leading Hand – Asphalt Paving

About the role

We are seeking a Leading Hand to join our asphalt paving crew in Mount Maunganui. This permanent, full‑time position allows you to lead a team while staying hands‑on on the job site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a crew of asphalt pavers to meet project schedules and quality standards.
• Coordinate daily work plans, material deliveries and equipment usage.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental procedures are followed on site.
• Perform paving tasks as needed, including operating machinery and laying asphalt.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to supervisors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a paving or similar construction environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑motivating abilities.
• Physically fit to handle the demands of manual labour.
• Reliable, honest and flexible with a positive attitude.

Required skills

• Class 2 driver’s licence with a WTR endorsement.
• Computer literacy for workload management.
