Lead Software Engineer – Mobile Development (Crypto Wallets)

About the role

This position leads the mobile engineering effort for a crypto wallet product used globally. You will guide a small team of engineers while actively building high‑performance React Native applications that integrate DeFi and blockchain features.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop cross‑platform mobile apps with React Native, ensuring performance, scalability, and a seamless user experience on iOS and Android.
• Provide technical leadership, set architectural direction, enforce coding standards, and mentor a team of mobile engineers.
• Define and maintain core mobile foundations such as state management, navigation, modularization, performance optimisation, and security best practices.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs, SDKs, WebSockets, and blockchain services, and contribute to backend code when needed.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and ensure high‑quality, maintainable codebases.
• Work with product managers and designers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Evaluate and adopt modern mobile tools, frameworks, and development patterns to improve efficiency and product quality.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in mobile development with a strong focus on React Native, React, Redux, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Proven track record of leading or mentoring mobile engineering teams and owning architecture for large‑scale applications.
• Deep understanding of mobile CI/CD pipelines, native build processes, and front‑end tooling.
• Experience integrating native modules and working with iOS (Swift/Objective‑C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) for low‑level functionality.
• Hands‑on experience with RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and distributed backend integration.
• Familiarity with backend development (Node.js or similar) and ability to contribute to API or service improvements.
