Lead Software Engineer – C++ API (Construction Tech)

About the role

Trimble is seeking a senior technical leader to build and guide a brand‑new C++ team focused on the Earthworks API. You will drive AI‑assisted engineering practices and deliver critical integrations that improve construction efficiency worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Define and steer the technical direction of the Integrations Enabler Team from inception to delivery.
• Architect, develop, and review high‑quality C++ components for the Earthworks API.
• Introduce and champion AI‑assisted development tooling to boost engineering productivity.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and global stakeholders to align API work with product priorities.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical resource across the engineering division.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Senior‑level expertise in C++ software development.
• Proven experience leading a small engineering team or serving as a technical lead on major projects.
• Strong understanding of the full software lifecycle, including automated testing and continuous delivery.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across international time zones.
