Lead Network Designer – Hydraulic Modelling

About the role

We are expanding our Water team and need a Lead Network Designer with strong hydraulic modelling expertise to deliver complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects for major utility clients across New Zealand. You will guide the design of transmission pipelines, pump stations and large‑scale networks while mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic modelling and network design from feasibility through detailed design.
• Develop solutions for transmission pipelines, pump stations and utility networks.
• Collaborate with clients to resolve complex operational challenges.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and modelers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Extensive experience in hydraulic modelling, network design or water infrastructure engineering.
• Proven track record delivering water or wastewater utility projects.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of InfoWorks ICM / WS Pro and DHI MIKE URBAN.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, ArcGIS/QGIS and model calibration.
• Strong understanding of water networks, pipelines, pump stations and system operations.
