Junior Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Junior Purchasing Officer will join Cubic's APAC Procurement team in Queensland, supporting the processing of purchase requisitions into purchase orders for Cubic Transportation Systems. Working under limited supervision, the role ensures timely and compliant procurement activities across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions into Purchase Orders via the SAP Buyer Queue, adhering to established SLAs.
• Research, negotiate, and manage competitive bids for materials, parts, equipment, and services.
• Source new and improved suppliers, evaluate product quality, cost, warranties, and delivery reliability.
• Run weekly Overdue PO reports, chase status updates, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with internal departments to address changing product and service needs.
• Action blocked invoices to ensure timely vendor payments.
• Prepare and submit weekly procurement performance reports.
• Assist with goods receipt processing, discrepancy resolution, and shipping/export compliance, including freight quotation and tracking.

Required profile
