IT Support Engineer – On-Call/Freelance (Blenheim, NZ)

About the role

EIL Global is seeking experienced IT Support Engineers to provide on‑call, freelance onsite support for its clients in Blenheim, New Zealand. You will be the first point of contact for end‑users, delivering prompt and professional desktop assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite desktop support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Perform Windows operating system installations, upgrades and re‑imaging.
• Diagnose and resolve problems with desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals.
• Conduct basic network troubleshooting in LAN/WAN environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches and other network devices.
• Document support activities, troubleshooting steps and resolutions accurately.
• Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support, desktop support or field services.
• Strong hands‑on experience with desktop hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of networking concepts (LAN, WAN, routers, switches).
• Experience with operating system deployment, imaging and break‑fix support.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple onsite assignments.
