IT Network Engineer II

About the role

Rocket Lab is seeking an IT Network Engineer II to join its Auckland Production Complex. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and operating the network infrastructure that supports launch and space system operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain global network infrastructure and software for engineering teams.
• Provide advice and guidance on highly reliable and available network solutions.
• Lead upgrades and continuous‑improvement initiatives to ensure network reliability and security.
• Champion IT Infrastructure Standards, ensuring compliance with company and cybersecurity policies.
• Automate build and maintenance processes, improve system reliability, and support high‑availability and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Produce clear reporting on usage, uptime, and support levels.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and control costs.
• Collaborate with other network engineers to establish WAN and LAN standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, implementing, and operating IT network systems.
• Ability to guide teams on network reliability, security, and standards compliance.
• Strong problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
• Experience with network infrastructure supporting high‑availability and disaster‑recovery.
