Internal Audit Professionals – Return to New Zealand 2026

About the role

EY is seeking experienced Internal Audit professionals who plan to return to Aotearoa New Zealand in early 2026. The positions are part of EY Risk Consulting and will be based in either Auckland or Wellington, offering the chance to work with leading‑edge tools across a variety of industry sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver risk engagements from planning through reporting across compliance, financial, operational and strategic risk areas.
• Coach and develop junior team members while ensuring high‑quality outcomes.
• Apply sector‑specific knowledge to assess client processes, identify risk mitigation opportunities and recommend improvements.
• Stay current with emerging industry trends, regulatory changes and EY tools to enhance audit approaches.
• For Manager‑level roles: manage a portfolio of clients, act as a trusted advisor, and lead teams in both co‑sourced and outsourced environments.

Required profile

• Professional experience in internal audit, preferably within government, health, education or corporate sectors.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client‑focused environment.
• Willingness to relocate to Auckland or Wellington and start in early 2026.
