Intermediate Project Manager – Buildings

About the role

We are looking for an Intermediate Project Manager to join our Dunedin team, supporting the delivery of building and infrastructure projects across design, procurement, contract management and delivery phases. The role offers the chance to manage day‑to‑day delivery of smaller projects and work packages independently while contributing to larger programmes under senior guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day delivery of projects and work packages to meet client scope, budget and programme.
• Support development of Project Management Plans aligned with client objectives.
• Identify, manage and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Assist procurement processes and contract administration, including exposure to NZS3910 and NZS3916 contracts.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors to keep projects on track.
• Prepare project reporting, track budgets and monitor performance against programme.

Required profile

• 3–5 years’ project management experience in New Zealand, preferably in a consultancy or client‑side environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Experience on building‑related or infrastructure projects across design, procurement and contract phases.
• Proven ability to deliver projects within defined scope, schedule and budget.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with a solutions‑focused mindset.
