Infrastructure Project Manager – Associate

About the role

Frequency is a New Zealand‑owned specialist project advisory consultancy supporting major projects across transport, water, health, education, industrial facilities and more. The role is for an experienced project manager who will work across infrastructure, industrial, project controls and building service lines, partnering with senior Frequency leaders and client teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of projects from early planning through procurement and construction across infrastructure, buildings and industrial environments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants and contractors to keep projects on schedule.
• Manage day‑to‑day project requirements under senior oversight, including programme, cost, risk and reporting.
• Engage directly with clients and stakeholders, building trusted relationships.
• Contribute to procurement processes and contract administration.
• Identify risks early and develop practical solutions.
• Maintain strong health‑and‑safety, quality and governance practices.
• Support and learn from senior team members while actively developing capability.

Required profile

• 4–7+ years’ experience delivering projects in New Zealand.
• Experience in civil infrastructure, vertical buildings or live operational/industrial environments.
• Technical background in engineering, construction, building services or strong contractor‑side experience.
• Familiarity with NZ procurement processes and contracts (NZS 3910 / 3916) or willingness to develop this capability.
• Clear, adaptable communication skills and confidence dealing with a range of stakeholders.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a willingness to take ownership.
• Interest in developing as a consultant, not just a project manager.
