Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor works closely with the Head Housekeeper to ensure the hotel’s housekeeping function runs efficiently, cost‑effectively and to five‑star boutique luxury standards. The role combines hands‑on supervision, staff development and guest‑experience focus to deliver the brand’s promise of cleanliness and personalized service.

Key responsibilities

• Determine daily work requirements and allocate duties to Room Attendants, Self‑Checkers and Team Leaders.
• Oversee team performance, suggest improvements and act on feedback.
• Inspect rooms, manage productivity and ensure compliance with hotel and brand standards.
• Deliver “MGallery Magic” by tailoring guest experiences based on preferences and system intelligence.
• Induct and train new staff, run on‑the‑job training programmes and support team members with work‑related issues.
• Develop weekly rosters at least fourteen days in advance, balancing service quality and wage costs.
• Manage security of guest rooms and keys, and ensure safe handling of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Supervise laundry operations, control linen costs and assist with inventory as required.
• Liaise with Front Office and Maintenance to coordinate room readiness and special guest requests, including VIP amenities.
• Communicate health, safety and environmental policies to all staff, contractors and volunteers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and maintain staff morale.
• Excellent organisational abilities to plan rosters, training and resource allocation.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high cleanliness and service standards.
• Effective communication skills for briefings, feedback and cross‑department collaboration.
