Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant

About the role

Join the Summerset Whangarei village team as a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant. You will play a vital behind‑the‑scenes role, ensuring the environment is clean, comfortable and dignified for residents, their whānau and fellow staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high‑quality cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry and kitchen facilities.
• Launder, fold and return residents’ clothing and linens with care, including labelling and mending personal items.
• Support infection‑control measures and adhere to health and safety procedures.
• Build respectful relationships with residents, understanding and responding to their individual needs.
• Work a rotating roster of four to five days per week, including weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping experience, ideally in healthcare or hospitality.
• Attention to detail and pride in delivering clean, safe environments.
• Physically fit and comfortable standing for long periods.
• Genuine interest in aged‑care; full training provided for those without prior experience.

• No specific technical skills required.
