Helpdesk Technician

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Helpdesk Technician to join Walter & Wild’s small, high‑performing IT team in Mangere Bridge, Auckland. This permanent, full‑time position offers a great entry point for candidates eager to launch an IT career while providing direct support to internal users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical assistance for hardware, software and network issues via phone, email and on‑site visits.
• Log, track and resolve tickets in the company’s service‑desk system, ensuring timely follow‑up and documentation.
• Assist with the setup, configuration and maintenance of workstations, printers and peripheral devices.
• Escalate complex problems to senior engineers and collaborate with other IT team members to implement solutions.
• Participate in routine system updates, patches and basic troubleshooting procedures.

Required profile

• Strong interest in information technology and a willingness to learn on the job.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and common office applications.
