Heavy Diesel Technician – Competitive Pay & Benefits

About the role

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Technician to join our brand‑new workshop in Islington. You will work on Caterpillar equipment, providing fault finding, diagnosis, repair and rebuild services for our mining customers.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair Cat diesel engines and related equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing and component rebuilds, including participation in the 789 rebuild project.
• Plan daily work to maximise efficiency and manage workload.
• Complete all required paperwork, service records and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the Leading Hand and Service Manager and support junior team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Technician working on Caterpillar machinery.
• Self‑motivated, energetic and able to work independently.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.

Required skills

• Fault finding and diagnosis of diesel engines.
• Repair, rebuild and servicing of Caterpillar equipment.
• Use of diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Understanding of maintenance documentation and admin processes.
