Healthcare Lecturer – Health and Wellbeing

About the role

The Canterbury Institute of Management is launching a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Wellbeing and seeks an enthusiastic lecturer to deliver engaging, learner‑centred education to adult students across aged care, disability support and community health topics.

Key responsibilities

• Teach seminars, tutorials and workshops covering aged care, disability support, cultural safety, communication and professional practice.
• Develop and maintain learning activities, teaching materials and Moodle content aligned with programme outcomes.
• Mark assessments, provide constructive feedback and participate in assessment moderation.
• Support learners in preparing for applied‑practice placements and identify those needing additional assistance.
• Maintain accurate attendance, assessment records and learner documentation.
• Contribute to programme meetings, reviews and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• A relevant qualification in health and wellbeing, nursing, aged care, disability support, social work, counselling, public health, community services or education.
• At least one year of experience in tertiary teaching, workplace training, health education or related community services.
• Preferred: New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent.
• Strong communication, empathy, cultural responsiveness and sound professional judgement.

• Moodle learning management system.

What we offer

• Salary range NZ$60,000–$70,000 per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time).
