Head Chef – Full Time

About the role

We are seeking a passionate individual who takes pride in creating the highest quality dishes and setting a culinary example for the team. The position works closely with the Master Chef and Executive Chef to maintain high standards and continuously evolve the menu.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Master Chef and Executive Chef to regularly update the menu.
• Manage ordering, stocktaking and food cost planning.
• Create rosters and control wage costs.
• Monitor dish quality from preparation through presentation.
• Communicate food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff.
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on procedures.
• Prepare and cook food to a consistently high standard.
• Oversee food control plan and ensure cleaning standards are followed.

Required profile

• Energetic, passionate and hard‑working.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Proven experience in a fast‑paced, high‑end kitchen.
• Relevant qualification at Level 2 NZQCF or at least two years of comparable experience.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional food experiences.
