General Engineer – Mechanical & Maintenance Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General or Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Palmerston North. The role involves working on a variety of projects, including repair, maintenance and new plant engineering for the bitumen transport and application industry.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and perform mechanical work on sprayers, trailers and bulk‑tank machinery.
• Undertake engineering tasks on new plant and equipment for bitumen transportation and application.
• Ensure health and safety standards are met for yourself, the team and the public.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in general or mechanical engineering.
• National Certificate in General Engineering, Mechanical – Level 4.
• Full, clean Class 1 NZ driver’s licence (Class 2, forklift and Dangerous Goods endorsements are a plus).
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Required skills

• Mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Welding certification to AS/NZS ISO 9606.1:2017 (advantageous).
• Skills in mechanical maintenance and servicing of machinery.
