Gelato Chef – Premium Gelato Production

About the role

Mrs Ferg is looking for a dedicated Gelato Chef to join its vibrant kitchen team in Queenstown. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the high‑quality gelato and sorbet range that defines the brand’s reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and produce up to 50 flavours of gelato and sorbet from scratch each day.
• Operate Effe gelato machines and other production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor equipment performance, temperature controls, production schedules and allergen requirements.
• Prepare complementary items such as juices, smoothies and breakfast bowls.
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the production area.
• Collaborate with the team in a fast‑paced environment to ensure consistent product quality.

Required profile

• Availability for a rotating roster that includes mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Full‑time commitment (40+ hours per week).
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a high‑energy team setting.
• Passion for food, especially gelato and sweet treats.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering premium products.
• Previous experience in pastry, gelato or a similar production‑based role.
