Functional Consultant

About the role

Join the Digital Te Au Reka team within the Ministry of Justice and help shape the future of justice services in Aotearoa New Zealand. As a Functional Consultant you will work with business partners, the judiciary, delivery teams and vendors to design and configure digital solutions that deliver real value across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business needs into fit‑for‑purpose digital solutions.
• Configure and support enterprise or SaaS platforms throughout their lifecycle.
• Partner with stakeholders, vendors and delivery teams to ensure successful implementation.
• Produce clear documentation and uphold quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and share knowledge across the team.

Required profile

• Experience in business analysis or functional consulting.
• Proven ability to translate user needs into practical digital solutions.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with stakeholders and vendors.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application.

Required skills

• Ability to configure enterprise or SaaS platforms across the lifecycle.
