Full-Time Dental Assistant – Join Modern Practice in Hamilton CBD

About the role
Dental Holistix is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to provide chair‑side support in a busy 4‑chair practice located in the Anglesea Medical Precinct, Hamilton CBD. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, and involves direct patient care, clinical record keeping and basic laboratory tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Provide chair‑side assistance for a wide range of in‑house dental procedures.
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
- Accurately enter and update clinical notes and patient information.
- Offer patients home‑care guidance and post‑treatment instructions.
- Assist with stock ordering and organization of clinical supplies.
- Support the admin team with appointment scheduling as needed.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as fabricating mouth guards, whitening trays, taking extra‑oral photos, intra‑oral scans and assisting with CEREC crowns.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a chair‑side dental assistant with reception duties.
- Strong communication skills and a warm, professional manner with patients and the clinical team.
- Excellent organisational ability and time‑management.
- Accurate data‑entry skills and up‑to‑date clinical record maintenance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑first environment.
- Reliable, proactive and friendly attitude.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
Required skills
- Chair‑side dental assisting.
- Reception and appointment scheduling.
- Use of Exact Online (advantageous).
- First‑aid training certification.
- Sedation monitoring course completion.
- Intra‑oral scanning and basic laboratory fabrication (mouth guards, whitening trays, CEREC crowns).
