About the role
The Front Office Manager leads the front desk and reservations teams at Rydges Wellington, ensuring seamless guest experiences from arrival to departure. Reporting to the General Manager, this role combines operational oversight, staff leadership and revenue optimisation in a dynamic hotel environment.
Key responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of the Front Office and Reservations departments, including roster management and cost‑effective scheduling.
- Maintain high service standards, ensuring all staff are punctual, in uniform and embody the hotel’s service values.
- Coordinate with the General Manager and Sales Manager to develop differentiated product offers that maximise occupancy and average daily rate.
- Oversee VIP and group arrivals and departures, guaranteeing all preparations are completed.
- Handle the hotel complaint system and act as Manager on Duty when required.
- Facilitate clear handovers with Duty Managers and Night Manager each shift.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, plan projects and events, and ensure adequate staffing across the hotel.
- Monitor market trends and local knowledge to drive performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Required profile
- Proven ability to lead and motivate front‑office teams in a hospitality setting.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with other hotel departments.
- Detail‑oriented approach to scheduling, cost control and service delivery.
- Understanding of hotel revenue management principles and market positioning.
- Flexibility to act as Manager on Duty and manage guest complaints promptly.
