Food and Beverage Attendant

About the role

Join the Dark Sky Project team at Lake Takapō and deliver exceptional food and beverage service in a stunning natural setting. You will work at the Astro Café on Mt John and the lakeside Diner, providing friendly, efficient service to guests while upholding Ngāi Tahu values of manaakitanga.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, hot chips and a range of menu items to guests.
• Take orders, recommend dishes, and ensure a high standard of hospitality.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and storage areas.
• Assist with stock replenishment, dishwashing, and occasional toilet cleaning.
• Collaborate with a supportive team to create memorable guest experiences.

Required profile

• Outgoing personality with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
• Team player who can stay calm under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physically capable of lifting, standing for long periods and moving quickly.
• Commitment to a minimum six‑month contract.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle are essential.

Required skills

• Barista – ability to operate coffee equipment and prepare quality beverages.
