Financial Controller

About the role

Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will own Tend’s core finance operations, compliance, reporting and close processes. The role is focused on building capability, improving processes and creating a scalable finance operating platform for a rapidly growing primary‑care network in New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end close and consolidation across the group.
• Lead the first external audit end‑to‑end, ensuring compliance with IFRS and public entity standards.
• Manage statutory reporting and tax compliance obligations, including the R&D tax incentive.
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and transactional accounting.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting and working capital amid intra‑month cash flow swings.
• Drive more mature use of NetSuite and standardise processes across clinics.
• Support integration of acquired clinics into the finance and reporting environment.
• Lead and develop a growing finance operations team.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• Proven experience leading finance teams in complex, multi‑site operational environments.
• Track record of delivering reliable reporting to tight deadlines.
• Experience with acquisitions and integration is an advantage.
• Highly organised, dependable and operationally robust.

Required skills

• NetSuite (ERP) proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and public entity reporting standards.
• Experience with ERP systems in evolving environments.
