Financial Accountant

About the role

PGG Wrightson Seeds is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its Finance team at the head office in Lincoln, New Zealand. Reporting to the Head of Reporting & Compliance, you will play a key technical accounting role, ensuring accurate and compliant financial outcomes across the Oceania region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements for Oceania entities, including joint ventures.
• Support the annual audit process and provide timely information to auditors.
• Prepare and review indirect tax returns (GST, FBT, NRWT, RWT) for New Zealand entities.
• Assist with year‑end tax estimates, wash‑ups and tax disclosures.
• Provide support on international tax matters such as Transfer Pricing and BEPS Pillar Two.
• Review Group and OneStream reporting submissions and perform key reconciliations.
• Oversee balance‑sheet reviews, focusing on high‑risk and judgemental accounts.
• Manage intercompany balances, transactions and reconciliations.
• Ensure correct recognition, classification and presentation of capital expenditure and asset accounting.
• Maintain IFRS16 lease reporting using the Nomos lease system.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes, controls and standards.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in multi‑entity environments.
• Excellent attention to detail and sound judgement.
• Ability to manage deadlines and produce high‑quality reporting.
• Clear communication skills for interaction with finance teams, auditors and tax advisors.
