Financial Accountant

About the role

Our client, a well‑established organisation in Auckland, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join a supportive finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be involved in month‑end reporting, financial statement preparation and continuous improvement of finance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports and support the month‑end close process.
• Assist with year‑end financial statements and coordinate external audit requirements.
• Prepare GST, FBT and other statutory returns.
• Support payroll reconciliations and finance‑related payroll processes.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities.
• Administer and help improve the finance ERP system.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to enhance processes and reporting.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with proven experience as a Financial Accountant in a medium‑sized organisation.
• Strong month‑end reporting and reconciliation experience.
• Good understanding of financial reporting and accounting standards.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across the business.

Required skills

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Experience using large ERP systems.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
