Finance Partner – Store Accounting & Commissions

About the role

Spark NZ is seeking a Finance Partner to join its Finance Delivery Centre. The role focuses on store accounting and commissions, turning large volumes of financial data into clear insights that support marketing, device, and consumer channels.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end accounting for retail stores, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Complete monthly balance‑sheet and bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
• Prepare month‑end journals, accruals, forecasts, and analytical reports across complex data sets.
• Collaborate with Store Operations and Mass Market Retail Operations to challenge assumptions and provide practical finance support.
• Lead audit and compliance activities throughout the year, maintaining robust controls.
• Support ad‑hoc financial investigations, analysis, and data interpretation for channel teams.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting; CA qualification or progress towards CA is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with the ability to investigate issues and develop practical solutions.
• Comfort working with complex systems, processes, and large data volumes under time constraints.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for large data sets, reconciliations, and detailed analysis.
• Experience with finance and data tools such as Xero, Power BI, Power Automate, and SQL (advantageous).
