Family Court Coordinator

About the role

The Family Court Coordinator supports the operation of the Family Court by coordinating specialist services and managing key relationships with the judiciary, legal practitioners, court users and community groups. The role sits within the Domestic Violence Programmes Team, ensuring timely delivery of domestic violence programmes across Family and Criminal Court jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate specialist services for the Family Court and maintain strong relationships with management, the judiciary and external partners.
• Support the Domestic Violence Team in delivering programmes across Family and Criminal Courts.
• Interpret and apply relevant legislation and court procedures.
• Manage competing demands in a fast‑paced environment and ensure timely programme delivery.

Required profile

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Self‑motivated with high initiative and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Commitment to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Experience or knowledge of Family Court procedures and legislation.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret legislation.
• Proficient computer literacy.
