About the role
We are seeking an Executive Assistant to support the Group Manager and senior leaders within the Māori‑Crown Relations and Māori Health groups of the Ministry of Health in Wellington. The role provides high‑quality, proactive administrative assistance that enables the delivery of the Ministry’s health equity programmes and fulfilment of Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the Group Manager’s diary, inbox, meetings and correspondence.
- Prepare and maintain reports, presentations and records in line with Ministry standards.
- Coordinate and plan activities that support the delivery of the work programme.
- Collaborate with directorate support teams to provide flexible, shared administrative support.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant supporting senior executives.
- Experience working in a government ministry or agency, preferably within Māori health contexts.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage priorities with accuracy, discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills, with an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
Required skills
- Strong capability across the Microsoft Office suite.
