About the role
We are seeking an Executive Assistant to support the Regional Manager of the Wellington Region Emergency Management Office (WREMO). This 12‑month fixed‑term position is based in our Thorndon office and provides high‑level confidential assistance to senior leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Manage calendars, inboxes and travel arrangements for the Regional Manager and leadership team.
- Coordinate meetings, events and logistics, including preparing agendas, minutes and action items.
- Maintain administrative systems and processes to ensure smooth office operations.
- Support the Group Controller and Regional Manager in the Emergency Coordination Centre during incidents, acting as Controller’s Assistant.
- Handle financial administration such as purchase orders, expense claims, accruals and reconciliations.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an executive assistant at a senior level or equivalent.
- High degree of integrity, discretion and ability to manage confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑management skills across internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong time‑management, organisational abilities and capacity to prioritise competing demands.
- Commitment to developing capability in te ao Māori in line with the Greater Wellington Māori Capability Framework.
