Event Facilitator – Community Events

About the role

The Event Facilitator will support community events across South/West Auckland, primarily based in Manukau. You will guide event organisers through council permitting processes, ensuring events are safe, compliant and successful.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and process event permit applications in line with Auckland Council requirements.
• Provide advice and guidance to community groups, event organisers and stakeholders throughout the planning process.
• Monitor permitted events and assist with compliance‑related matters.
• Build strong relationships with local boards, community organisations and event‑sector stakeholders.
• Contribute to local event programmes and annual event activity planning.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help deliver consistent facilitation practices.
• Support the delivery of local events and community initiatives when required.

• Ability to balance customer needs with regulatory requirements.
• Capable of managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
