Equipment Operator – Processing (Full-time, Rotating Shifts)

About the role

We are looking for an Equipment Operator to join Danone Nutricia NZ’s processing team at our spray‑drying plant near Balclutha. In this permanent, full‑time position you will operate key machinery that transforms raw milk into high‑quality infant formula, ensuring production runs safely and efficiently on a rotating shift roster.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor factory equipment, including spray‑dryers, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Perform routine set‑up, cleaning, and maintenance tasks to keep machinery running at optimal performance.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and health‑and‑safety guidelines to maintain product quality and workplace safety.
• Assist with material handling, heavy lifting, and movement of pallets throughout the production line.
• Document production data, report any deviations, and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating machinery in a food‑manufacturing environment, preferably with spray‑drying processes.
• Strong understanding of GMP, hygiene standards, and high‑care production requirements.
• Ability to work rotating shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off) and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Attention to detail and a collaborative team‑player attitude.
