English and Liberal Arts Teacher

About the role

UP International College is seeking a passionate English and Liberal Arts teacher for its Pathways Link Programme in Auckland CBD. The role involves delivering English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to international EAL learners (IELTS 4.5‑5.0) and teaching Media Studies, while also leading Whanau classes that focus on social wellbeing and inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Teach English to international students and assess their progress.
• Deliver Liberal Arts subjects, particularly Media Studies, and conduct related assessments.
• Lead Whanau classes that promote wellbeing and inclusion.
• Provide academic and pastoral oversight for students.
• Engage with pastoral and academic systems and raise issues through the Learner Success Team.
• Complete required administrative tasks associated with teaching and student support.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and a positive contribution to the programme.
• Highly organised with strong planning and deadline‑management skills.
• Consistently positive student feedback.
• Qualification to teach EAP to international learners (e.g., Bachelor’s in Education or Graduate Diploma in Teaching).
• Teaching certification with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
• Experience working with international students is preferred.
