Electrotechnology Trainer – Deliver Theory & Practical Training

About the role
Skills Group is seeking an experienced Electrotechnology Trainer to join its modern Highbrook campus in East Tāmaki. You will share your industry expertise by delivering engaging theory and hands‑on training, assessing learner competency, and helping shape New Zealand's future electrical workforce.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and practical electrotechnology training to adult learners.
- Assess learner competency, provide constructive feedback and record outcomes.
- Develop and maintain high‑quality training materials and practical learning resources.
- Cover electrical theory, regulations, standards and industry best practice in all sessions.
- Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and industry developments.
- Collaborate with the wider training team to continuously improve programmes.
Required profile
- Current New Zealand Electrical Registration (Full Practising Licence, Inspector’s Licence, or equivalent).
- Hold or be willing to obtain Unit Standard 4098 and Unit Standard 11551.
- Strong practical experience in the electrical industry.
- Excellent communication and coaching abilities; passion for developing others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with PV solar systems is advantageous.
